When they stretch a joint they're not taking up the slack, they're making sure the joint made.

Were the SUV's and trucks driving backwards to get away from the train? Or was the video being played in reverse? :)

Also, you got a new subscriber. Just now getting interested in my old childhood hobby after 20 years, but going from HO to N scale. Love your layout. Lots of time and money spent, I'm sure. I have a similar, more compact, layout in mind, except on a three-shelf 8x4 workbench, with helix on one side to move up and down the shelves (just an idea).

Great work. I'm now a fan.

Noticed another video of the 844 with a diesel locomotive behind the tender, which leads me to believe that the 844 is just for show and the diesel's what's really being used for the power.

Got an unrelated question regarding benchwork. I notice that you have a very intricate layout design, which looks quite permanent. Are your modules detachable? It looks like a hassle to tear-down if you ever need to move.

Makes sense. Just kinda' looks weird having a diesel locomotive behind a steam engine, and loses some of the ambiance.

I own my home, too. Lost my last job 6 years ago right after I bought my home, but luckily found another job in my area, so I didn't have to sell.

So, another question regarding your helix (or helixes in general)... Is it possible to use a single helix to move up three modular shelves?

I still haven't even designed a layout, so I'm keeping my options open.
