We have taken the train from Bergen to Geilo to visit my husbands Great Grandfather's farm. Beautiful scenery. We have also watched a LOT of miles and miles and miles of rides on You Tube. We watched so many miles that we recognized buildings and towns etc. We just HAD to watch because it is SO beautiful!

Made the Oslo - Bergen - Oslo train trip back in 1987 (I think). Unbelievable, an incredible feat of civil engineering. You will see some amazing things, I couldn't recommend it more. I would like to do it again. Norway is one of the most physically beautiful countries I have ever seen, especially the fjords. Norwegians are very hospitable. It is an expensive country though and I was a poor student back then and could barely afford to eat, but the Norwegian ladies were very beautiful and accommodating. ;)

Then take the ferry from Bergen up the Sognefjord to Flåm and the Flåmsbana (world's most beautiful train ride) to Myrdal, and head back to Oslo. Or, ride a bike back down to Flåm, and reverse your trip
