So, Initial D’s eurobeat songs, while absolutely god tier, almost never fit the scenarios lyric wise. However, this song was the shining exception, with it starting with “Goodbye…” right as the camera focuses on the AE86 and it’s aura and then Takumi. You know what’s going to happen. You can tell from those first few words in the song that the AE86 will be lost here, yet you still get a sense of surprise when the engine blows. That’s what’s beautiful about the scene, it’s usage of music and camera work to emphasize that something is going to go wrong makes this scene great.
