Been in it for 6 years. No schooling. Started in the warehouse got an opportunity and ran with it never looked back. Making $31 an hour plus Commission and O.T averaging about $43 an hour. 🤙🏽 never stop learning

The best part of this trade is the fact that you get paid for what you know and not what you do in most cases. I am currently working in the pharmaceutical part of the refrigeration trade. I work on Enviromental stability chambers and the pay is above average. I average 50 hours per week and my income was a little bit over 158k, no on call schedule, off every holiday and weekend.

Plenty of money to be made if you put the work in with studying and learning. I graduated trade school with high honors. Sat up front. Never missed a class. Took extensive notes and studied hard. Had multiple job offers before I even graduated. Took an install position with a company at $23/ hour right out of school. I suggest everyone start off as an installer. It will greatly help you as a service and maintenance tech if you know how it is installed. Kept studying, kept learning. Switched into maintenance. Then moved up to Service. Within 2 years out of school I’m making almost 30/hour which is really nothing compared to your bonuses and commission! In the next couple years I’ll be making over 100, 000/year. THE KNOWLEDGE IS MOST IMPORTANT THING!

I started the trade when I was 21
Got my own truck at 24
Got my first house at 25
Im 27 now and planning on getting my licenseing and insurance and going out on my own by 30

I recommend going to trade school at the best school in your area and working in the field simultaniously while going through school so that you really understand what a man's day of work is.

Started out at like 17 an hour while I was going to school
After graduating I went to a small company that does ac and refrigeration

Started 15 an hour. Within. 2 years got to 21 . Took a health downfall. Had to take a jump to a corporate company making 1, 000+ a week and always climbing the ladder . New company coming soon to keep climbing higher ! Best decision I ever made was to learn this trade with no schooling at all. All learned by experience and opportunity

The best advice to young guys, As soon as your eligible, get your journeyman’s license…and then get your masters. Start your own business. And go commercial.

I started my HVAC Program 2 weeks ago.. So far, i am loving it.. I will also land an Apprenticeship with a company I have been looking at for some time now as well, which I am happy about. I will also prepare for my EPA 608 Universal Certification. Learning never stops and i am cool with being a "Lifelong Learner"!!!!

Making 120k salary. 15 years experience in residential/new construction. Also make 20-30k per year on side work and turn quite a bit down unless I’m confident I can spend the time and do a good service to the customer, including 1 year labor warranty for work done. Also I’m blessed enough to have found some good installers/techs to do the changeouts for me on the side so most of those jobs I don’t even touch. Just go collect and inspect the job 😀very good money in Hvac! Sky is the limit

hvac was cool and all but i found a job working for the largest frozen beverage company as a refrigeration service tech and it's a crazy twist on HVACR, they send us off for weeks and weeks of deep detailed training to do refrigeration work on their equipment, pay is pretty good too

I appreciate the video, but man, you sure do a lot of talking to say very little. This video could have been wrapped up in 3 minutes or less. I realize a lot of work goes into making these, but you worked harder than you needed to here.

Stationary engineer here. One year of engineering school is HVAC. One semester of the fundamentals and CFC cert and one semester of controls. Apprentices start at $73k a year and journeyman are currently at $121k a year. As an stationary engineer, you really work on everything, but refrigeration is the most valuable skill an engineer can have..

The pay scale in NM is pretty much the same as what you described at the end. Light commercial is my favorite, and on average it pays in the low to mid $30’s.

Most people I meet that are interested in a trade, I tell them to go to the local community college for commercial Electritian or HVAC Tech. If they really want to make money in a trade, go be a controls tech or SCADA tech. The thing is, it requires the more technical and mental thought process. As with most jobs, the higher the risk, the more education required, or technical difficulty, the more pay.

My company does peace work pay and depending what level you are in experience you can make up to 550 - 600 a day with a summer spiff. If you want to convert that to hourly for the week its like 67hr. working 5-6 days a week you make like 3k. yearly up to 120k and more. All depends on what company you are with too I was fortunate enough to get into my company with a apprenticeship program that we no longer do. Its a blessing.
