I had one on my tongue for 4 days and the salt water relieved the pain while it was in my mouth but the pain came back as soon as I spit the salt water out. You know what actually helped me relieve the pain immediately and I only had to do it a few times a day? Its similar to this but it was actually just taking a saline solution and pouring it on my tongue. Not a lot just where the bump is. You can soak a q-tip or cotton ball with saline solution and dab it on there. It was gone in the next two days.

If you have the annoying white bumps on the side of your tongue, doing this and rinsing your mouth with mouthwash helps alot. Thank you for the advice man, this has been so annoying all day

It might sound horrific but ive cliped them off with a special toenail clipper. Which usually helps, but it sometimes doesn't get all the painful tissue.
There's a bit of blood, but the wound is far less painful and irritating than the "dead" taste bud. Sometimes, I'll get like 3 at a time.

I always pick at them or bit them, and when I was younger I would use a tweezer 😭

I use hydrogen peroxide and dilute it with water but it hurts a lot but it dries it out super fast
