Also since you mentioned the Debt payment Haiti made to France, let me provided you some additional context ;After France lost the war against the Haitians in 1804, all properties and businesses belonging to French and jews were confiscated by Haiti since no Frenchmen were allowed to ever set foot in Haiti. The king of France was under alot of pressure from Jewish businesses for compensation for the lost of their businesses... the French had try several times to get a settlement with Haiti but previous Haitian leaders never accepted and instead killed the French representative for even suggesting payment from Haiti( After blacks had suffers centuries of slavery), Example king Henry Christophe of Haiti had the French ambassador who was sent by France to negotiate killed. But in 1825 after Haiti had conquered the Dominican Republic, many leaders in Haiti believed that Haiti would become an agricultural power house and would need to export its food...and because back then France had alot of diplomatic pressure on Haiti and other nations not to trade or do any business with Haiti ; Haitian leaders back then thought it was a good idea to settle with France, not knowing that they would falling into a trap set by France and the US for Haiti to never recover...but Yeah prior to 1825, Haiti was considered a very rich country...a power house known around the world, even The Russians had sent congratulations to the HAitians and the Greeks had seek help from Haiti for their own independence struggle against the Ottoman empire. 1825 was like signing a deal with the devils.

There s super market call Xmarket not far from Carribean Market he s cheaper . There’s an another one call Compas market you find more of organic products of the country .
