HPC-AI chip companies have built out and manage major major software development operations, and at SC24, we caught up with two software managers associated with Intel's open source software projects.

Here is our conversation with:

- Shobhan Jha, Intel’s Director, Product Management, oneAPI Software Products. oneAPI is Intel’s unified application programming interface and toolkit for GPUs, AI accelerators and field-programmable gate arrays FPGAs).

and

- Rod Burns, Vice President of Ecosystem at Codeplay, an Intel company that supports open ecosystems for accelerated computing. He also is a Steering Committee member of the Unified Acceleration Foundation (UXL), that works on the continuation of the oneAPI initiative to create a new open standard accelerator software ecosystem.

In this conversation, Rod talks about a session he had at SC24 with experts from the open source software community, and he discusses the advantages of open source software for HPC-AI applications across heterogenous environments.

Shobham talks about the major achievements delivered over the five years of the oneAPI standard and its impact on the HPC community.
