You don't know who to trust, Some will hate you, pretend they love Marley is a prophet and a real man. Long live the legend.

This song is one of those hidden gems that a lot of people with only a surface level appreciation of bob Marley miss and that’s a shame.

What I know is that Bob Marley was a chosen son of God because his songs reflect whatever has, is and will happen. I love him. He's my all time hero.

I first listened to this song in 1986 around October, and this one particular tune made me convert into a huge fan of Bob. Then I must have been 12 years old then and I started to look for Bobs other works, needless to say, his view on matters vital, religion, politics, humanity, equality & justice, was not only prophetic but have deep meaning for some of us from Africa and particularly Zimbabwe. His work remains relevant to the world, Forever.

Lyrics

Man to man is so unjust, children
You don't know who to trust
Your worst enemy could be your best friend
And your best friend your worst enemy
Some will eat and drink with you
Then behind them su-su 'pon you
Only your friend know your secrets
So only he could reveal it
And who the cap fit
Let them wear it
And who the cap fit
Let them wear it
Said I throw me corn (throw me corn)
Me no call no fowl (me no call no fowl)
I saying Cok-cok-cok (Cok-cok-cok)
Cluck-cluck-cluck (Cluck-cluck-cluck)
Ay
Some will hate you, pretend they love you now
Then behind they try to eliminate you
But who Jah bless, no one curse
Thank God
We're past the worse
Hypocrites and parasites
Will come up and take a bite
And if your night should turn to day
A lot of people would run away

- True, Always happen everytime

"Only Your friend know your Secret, So only He Could Reveal it"

- everytime i hear this phrase...its beyond words

"Some Will hate you, Pretend they love you now. then behind they, try to eliminate you, But who Jah Bless, No One Curse"

its not just a song...its reality with blessing words & speaks beautifully

So much uncertainty, just too much hypocrisy laced with betrayal.
Bob you were just way ahead of time in the real sense.
You will live on earth eternally.

Bob Marley’s timeless song “Who the Cap Fit” resonates deeply with its cautionary message about the duplicity and hypocrisy inherent in human nature. Through its poignant lyrics, the song warns of betrayal and the perils of misplaced trust, reminding us that many people hide behind facades, only to reveal their true nature when it serves their interest. In today’s world, where social interactions are often clouded by insincerity, the song’s wisdom is a powerful reminder to tread carefully in relationships. Marley’s prophetic words, “Your worst enemy could be your best friend, and your best friend your worst enemy, ” highlight the unpredictable nature of trust and loyalty. Ultimately, the message is clear: only your friend knows your secret, and he is the only one who can reveal it.
