The Audi TT, especially the second-generation, is when I started to call the TT, the baby R8 in terms of the overall design. Of course, it's not a mid-engine car like the R8, but you can tell that some TT design cues were carried over to the R8, especially the lighting.

I've always liked the TT and orange is my favorite color so I would love this car.

Honestly, I absolutely love the 2nd generation TTS design wise, it's my attainable dream car in the future, if it even stays attainable and desirable later down the line.

The TT-S and TT-RS 8J or like I call it R4 (half of the R8) is a really good car. Underrated as hell.

You read my mind on this model. Love it!! Look at that elegant instrument panel and dash and real gauges. I want one.

I own an MK2 TT, there are aftermarket multimedia screens that makes the interior look more actual. Living in a big city in Europe funny to see how guys driving Mini Coopers try to show off at the red lights every single time, deeply they know they regret driving a Mini.

It’s not an old school automatic lol. It’s a dual clutch dsg dg250. Usual to get the the box mapped if you get an engine map.

I have a white 2010 TTS with magna ride. All the literature I've seen pegs the 0-60 time at 4.9s (likely with launch control). The doors are made of steel, and there is a steel "tub" glued into the car's aluminum frame from the drivers seat back for extra rigidity. Weight balance is 59 front 41 rear if memory serves me right, and the weight is about 3150 lbs. The choice to omit a sunroof was to keep the car frame as rigid as possible and eliminate weight in the upper part of the car where you don't want it. I personally like the Potato Peeler wheels, but to each their own. They are very heavy though (31-32lbs). I bought some 18" Forgestar wheels (18lbs.) and the difference in accelerating and stopping got even better. Reasonable driving yield pretty good mpg closer to 29mpg (mostly highway) which I've measured based on gas used. The center screen can offer a fair bit more of information that can be changed using the end button on right stalk to scroll through the different screens and the comfort and convenience settings. Audi had to make things complicated to change the wiper blade. You must scroll through the settings to release the wiper arms, so you can move them freely and pop them out. Otherwise they motors keep them tucked away so they are barely visible when not in use. The brakes are huge and the car's braking distance is fantastic in stock form. The exhaust comes mainly out the right side I believe at reasonable speeds to avoid attention from the police. When you accelerate hard, a flap opens up to let exhaust come out of both sides in a more free flowing manner and is louder. (Not loud or aggressive enough for me, but it is what it is.) The 2009-2010 models only could accept a towing hitch and tow a 1000lbs trailer. I also found a plow kit here in Canada (Snowsport 180, 6' wide plow blade0 that fits into the hitch and allows me to plow in reverse. BTW, even with the car being so low to the ground it is awesome in the winter. I've been looking to put an air suspension kit together to raise the car 6-8" to make it more capable in the snow. Unfortunately, there is anybody in my area qualified to do that kind of work. Lastly that "shooting brake" concept is nowhere near as attractive as my TTS.

The TTS will be my next car. Beautiful in every detail. I have a 2002 Mk1 TT and a 2007 Roadster Mk2 TT. Both are gorgeous, reliable, rare, well designed, well built and fun to drive. All the boxes that make a classic. The TTS Mk2 and the Mk3 TTRS will complete the collection. I will have trouble deciding which to drive as they all have very interesting driving characteristics.

The new TTs may be more solid, more driveable, have better drivetrain but I've always preffer the 1st Gen TT, absolute timeless design

Great review man! Finally someone doing reviews in older cars, since car enthusiasts like us buy used cars old the time . Again what an excellent review

Great review! This is a great looking car! I love the unique color! I have had one of these in the Ibis white color. I would love to find one of these in this color. The only thing I disagree with. I like this rim design on the TTS. It's a special variation. I don't like them on the A4. They do work on the Q SUV as well. Again great thorough review! Awesome to see you in Denver!!!

This TT is the car that got me into cars all together as a child. It’s still beautiful and timeless. I’m a little biased tho

The 2nd gen TT is also based upon the later Golf chassis.

I totally agree about the shooting brake concept. Wish that came to life

HPA built a twin turbo vr6 version of this TTS and made it WIDE BODY adding 2 inches on each side with 700 horsepower. Truly a Beautiful car! But stock it needs an upgraded motor to truly be a sports car because it comes with only 268 horsepower and can only be stage 1 chipped/tuned to 295 Horsepower. Thats sport and fast but its not enough compared to modern sports cars with 400 horsepower + like the audi ttrs

I have a second generation TTS from 2008 in ice silver metallic! That means the fog lights don't have the silver trim piece and all the silver details such as mirror and fuel caps match the paint itself :) I don't think I could ever get rid of it!
