Make the Most of Your Data with Couchbase: What can NoSQL do for You?

Показать описание
Welcome to our first virtual Couchbase Meetup! We have four presentations for you that we're sure you're going to love. We look forward to having you join us on October 6 at 10 a.m. PT!
Session One: Cloud-Native Technologies Deliver Smooth Sailing in the Cloud
Speaker: Anil Kumar
The adoption of cloud continues to accelerate, and the latest wave of workloads to begin moving en masse are operational databases. Moving to the cloud reduces the cost of operations, introduces elastic scalability, helps improve performance, and provides greater flexibility through on-demand infrastructure. With more and more data infrastructure shifting from on premises to the cloud, knowing how to best leverage cloud data tools is critical to the future success of data professionals and the businesses they support. In this session we will talk about how best to adopt cloud computing utilizing cloud-native technologies.
Session Two: Build Modern Multi-Tenant Applications With Scopes and Collections
Speaker: Shivani Gupta
Scopes and collections are key features introduced in Couchbase Server 7.0. They provide rich functionality, including fine-grained namespace isolation, lifecycle management at multiple levels, and fine-grained security isolation. In this short presentation you will learn more about the functionality and how you can benefit from it – both for re-platforming your legacy RDBMS applications to Couchbase or for building new multi-tenant microservice-based applications.
Session Three: Couchbase Makes N1QL ACIDic
Speaker: Kamini Jagtiani
With Couchbase Server 7.0, you can now run N1QL (the Couchbase query language) with ACID semantics. All your familiar SQL statements – SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE, JOIN, MERGE, etc. – can now run within BEGIN and COMMIT/ROLLBACK. Save points are available within transactions as well. Transactions even work across multiple documents from multiple collections, among different scopes and different buckets.
You can program these transactions using SDKs as well as issue commands via UI, cbq, or REST. This talk will give a sneak peak into using N1QL with ACID.
Session Four: How to Get Real-Time Insights From Your Couchbase JSON data
Speaker: Idris Matiwala
Modern enterprises strive to be data driven. Companies are generating and analyzing data at unprecedented volumes. Couchbase Analytics is a powerful tool that enables data teams to run ad hoc analytical queries leveraging massively parallel processing (MPP) query technology to dramatically reduce the time to insight (TTI) from their NoSQL data without interfering with application performance. In Couchbase Server 7.0, Analytics is more powerful than ever before.
This session will review how Couchbase Analytics can lower the cost of ownership for businesses and some of its key use cases before concluding with an end-to-end demonstration of the Analytics pipeline's powerful capabilities. We will focus on demonstrating how to ingest and analyze JSON which is becoming the de facto modern data format.
