A quck research shows Bologna plays 4-5-1 (4-2-3-1) formation most of the times.
The fact that player positions change depending on circumstances, it doesn't mean they're suddenly playing with 2 defenders and 7 midfielders.

Hardly any manager worth his salt plays a formation shown before the game for the majority of the match.
