Bushwapz Advance PPF film - HGT Next Gen Raptor Ranger Build!
Показать описание
We wrap my new next Gen Raptor ranger in paint protection Film (PPF) at home in the garage in true DIY style. It’s actually not that hard to do yourself! Especially using the Bushwrapz Advance pre-cut PPF kit.
After a few years of using Bushwrapz on my y62 Patrol and more recently wrapping Damo's Next Gen Raptor Ranger I am well confident in the ability of Bushwrapz. This is why I knew it needed to be one of the first modifications I made to my Ranger Raptor.
When it comes to wrapping your car in paint protection Film this can be a very daunting experience. After all it’s not exactly cheap and it isn’t something most people will have the confidence to try themselves.
Bushwrapz make the whole experience as easy and stress free as possible with vehicle specific pre-cut kits. Solid instructions including plenty of instructional videos online. An added bonus is the actual cost of a Bushwrapz kit is a fraction of the price of a professional shop.
The New next Gen Raptor Ranger is not exactly the easiest car to wrap with all its curved and aggressive body lines. The Bushwrapz Advance kit is well thought out with a few millimetres tolerance around the edges to make installation as easy as possible.
We started on the flattest easiest piece to build confidence and worked from there. Fuel flap, front doors, rear doors, front quarter panel and then finally the tub. The raptor tub and the front of the quarter panels was actually quite tricky to start with. We ended up using a hair dryer to heat and mould the really curved parts to make them stick. This worked perfectly.
My pro tips
• Read and follow the instructions
• Wet the panel and the adhesive side of the wrap – the wetter the easier it is to position
• Spend time on each panel to get the alignment perfect
• Squeegee a few small touch spots to hold in place and recheck the alignment
• Remove all the large air bubbles first - recheck the alignment
• Squeegee the rest of the solution out- working from the centre out
• If your alignment isn’t siting right pull the PPF re-apply solution and reposition
• The edges will struggle to stick if they are too wet
• HEAT SEAL THE EDGES! You will see it actually adhere to the car and lock in.
While this all seems like a lot it really is actually quite easy, have it wet, take your time and have patience.
By the time we finished applying the Bushwrapz Advance paint protection Film (PPF) to the New next Gen Raptor Ranger there were no visible scratches or pin striping in the paint. The Bushwrapz is a great product that actually works as it claims. I do know this from the Patrol.
