Just to be clear here, I'm not nit picking or hating here. I just have standards, and if we all do we would have a better space. You can not sit here and honestly say this is better than many $100 mice out there. Could it be, heck yeah for sure! But still a little work to be done.
PS: Would you buy a new car with a dent/scratch in it?
Also: people are saying lot 2 and batch 2 are different 🤦‍♂️ wtf is going on here! I’m so confused now, 😂

There is a difference between drop 2 and lot 2. Lot two is drop one with corrected issues and drop 2 is changes to tolerances on click wobble, post travel, adhesive change under battery, and potentially black cables. All of this comes from messages finalboy sent in the discord.

I just bought my first Finalmouse after not being satisfied with my Vipers and G Pro’s.
After watching this video I realized… omg I DID get the batch 5 😂
Unpainted ULX Competition with the solid sides, reworked cage, Huano switches and stabilized buttons is I believe technically batch 5 of the ULX.
Techne gives great advice as always. Can’t wait till the Competition one gets reviewed by the channel. As a future Finalmouse user, I really need that copium, Techne! 😅

20k ULX was made for Batch 1. 5k was Lot 1 which was the ones reported with the gap issues and creaking. The remaining 15k was lot 2 which has the gap fixed and creaking which caused some delays for shipping. Batch 2 will include changes like black cables and other things + the gap/creaking fix. Hope this makes sense

Thank you for what you do, Tech. This was a mouse I was thinking about getting but with the issues you and others have brought to light, I think I am either going to wait for a long while or just pass completely on it. $200 is a lot of money to me. If I spend that much on a mouse, it should last for a very long time and have absolutely no issues out of the box. Again, thank you for looking at products through the lens of a regular consumer.

Sorry Techne but I can't take this video seriously when they say it's not cherry picked, I just don't trust them Finalmouse not you, the only way to see if the quality has improved is if you bought another one yourself which I'm not saying that you should've, you don't own Finalmouse anything they should have got it right the first time and if you decided to buy another one yourself that is just something nice of you that you could do.

I don’t think anyone (rational at least) is pushing quality aside. As weight gets lower and lower it’s going to be impossible to retain complete structural rigidity. Some people just prioritize weight over rigidity. I think it’s just that simple. Is it worth it? Adding 5-10 grams to make it solid is probably the better option if the material or construction can’t be structurally sound but some might not care.

Was planning to get one but after seeing Al the reviews, I got the wlmouse beast x instead. Similar weight, solid build, readily available, overall just better

Honestly, I think the overall flaw of side flex has always put me off. I remember on my g502 (changing soon to a xlite v3 lol), I had a button which had pretravel but would stop until the switch, pressing harder causes the actuation, but that trick of pressing the button half way, which is basically side flex, would not stop annoying me

Here’s the thing, I paid $200 for batch 1. INSANE creeking, flexing, wobble, adhesive, horrible.
The worst part is that they told us in the discord, that the 4 months of delays were to ensure that every finalmouse was perfect as they were going to China themselves to watch over the manufacturing. Yet they all had such poor quality?
Very annoying. I have RMA my mouse to fix the flexing, it is fixed now. But I still have really bad wobble. All these being issues a $200 mouse should not have.
It blows my mind Finalmouse can release 10 mice and have horrible qc issues but then there’s companies like WLmouse releasing BeastX, their first mouse, and it being rock solid off the bat

I don't think that you were nit picking. It is a 200 usd product. It should have very high quality.
