How to ADD Friends for CROSSPLAY in Overwatch 2 (Easy Tutorial)

Do you want to know how to add friends for crossplay in Overwatch 2. To do this, go to the upper right side of the screen and go over the name. You will see a name a hashtag and numbers. Give this to your friend and then go to social and then go to add friend. You will be able to invite people on xbox, ps4, ps5, PC.

thank you for explaining this, i was intimidating by adding a friend cross and wasnt sure how it worked because it says battle tag specifically or email but they play through steam so im glad it was a simple answer and that i wasnt the only one asking the question

Make sure your friend has his email verified and has crossolay enabled in overwatch and make sure he has done the tutorial and practice range

Try going to setting and to social and turning carreer profile visibility to public

you have to put the entire username, not just the digits
so the username+#+digits

When me and my friend try to play together in comp we can’t, it says “ not in same competitive pool”, I looked it up and it means cross platform stuff. I’m bronze 3 support and they’re silver tank, we don’t have any other ranks for the other roles btw. They can play with their other friends tho so I don’t think that’s the issue. Do they need to turn on cross platform because I have it on and if so where is that setting?
