I don’t know why people bother traveling on these busy holiday weekends anymore. Between the stress, high prices and the hassles it’s not worth it.

We didn’t reopen yesterday, the country has been back to “normal” now for almost a year. They were paid to keep employees and still got rid of them. This needs to be investigated

Plane ticket proces have doubled over the past year, yet airlines can't get they stuff together to deliver on their service? Seems like a violation of the contract of carriage. People should get refunds plus additional airline credits.
I can't sell you a cookie and then tell you I ran out and keep your money.

Many of the airlines over sell their flights and this should be outlawed.

In Germany various industries don't layoff employees during recessions. They place them on furlough at half pay. When the recession ends employees are recalled. Companies save money on retraining and retain an experienced and loyal workforce. We could do the same here. Unemployment insurance could pay 25% and the company the other 25%.

It would have been more constructive for you reporters to ask the airlines WHY do you keep selling tickets when you know you can’t fulfill them? Now that’s a reasonable question .

This can’t surprise anyone. Travelers have been being warned for weeks about this holiday potential problems.

Thank you Southwest! Friday July first. I flew from Orlando to Houston to San Diego no delays or canceled flights. Now I can see my Nephew to married July 3rd and have a direct flight home on the 6th.

Why would an airlines sell a ticket that they don’t have enough staff? Just because they need money to recover and let passengers suffer and charged them higher ticket fees?

When CRUISE SHIPS were CANCELLED FOR TWO YEARS they had to pay everyone back plus onboard credit! It should be the same plus more the airlines!! They get bailed out! The cruise ships had to retire and be broken up!

They weren't canceled. It was part of a "special aerial operation."

Pilots were retiring and were replenished before the pandemic. Why lack of pilots is now a problem ? What happened to the existing pilots who did not reach retiring age ?

And not one word about the Pilot's the reason flights are being cancelled.

Just another example of greed on the part of the airline industry! Weather I get, but to give an excuse of covid related staffing layoffs is simply outrageous. They got A LOT OF MONEY from the government during covid to sustain themselves. So now they should have the money to hire back those they laid off. Would love to know how much the CEO’s made during this time? What happened to the money allotted to them?
