I read Warriors Don’t Cry quite a few years ago and loved it. Such strong and brave students that rose up to change many horrible things that took place in this country.

The Faihful Spy is awesome. I’m reading it slowly. The illustrations add so much to it. A few times already I’ve just sat and read a section then studied the illustration that went with it.

Eat the Alphabet is such a cool concept! I think we will start that with our family! Thanks for sharing!

A great reading weekend! Added the 9/11 Newfoundland book & Warriors Don’t Cry to my TBR. Glad you enjoyed Faithful Spy too.

And Eat the Alphabet!? That is the most fun clever idea. I will be incorporating it to my date night ideas. Love it!

I am glad your brother is home from the hospital, and praying that he continues to recover. Your fall foliage up there is gorgeous! !! We don't get those beautiful colors here in Florida sadly. I have been reading The Storyteller by Jodi Picault and it is so good!! It's heartwrenching and disturbing, but I'm really enjoying it. I also am reading an excellent book from Mitch Albom, his latest called The Stranger In The Lifeboat. I think you would really enjoy this one, it has to do with the sinking of a luxury ship of a wealthy man, he and about six or seven others initially survive in a lifeboat and they are floating along and notice a man in the water, and they help him into the lifeboat and he professes to be The Lord Jesus. It is SO good, I'm a little over half way through it, and I can tell already it's going to be one of my favorites for the year. I hope your brother continues to recover well, praying for him. Hope you have a blessed week!! 😊💕

The Gander, Newfoundland story is an amazing true story! The bravery of Melba and the other students boggles my mind. As does the way they were treated. The colors of the leaves is gorgeous! I'm amazed you found a restaurant starting with Q. That is such a fun thing to do with friends. Didn't have time to read much this weekend but I finished The Nature of Fragile Things on Friday. Loved it, couldn't put it down.

I am excited to see what you think about The Lincoln Highway. I absolutely loved it. I agree about the lack of quotation marks. The last three books I read were like that. I hope it's not a trend. You will get used to it as you continue reading.

All the pretty leaves- gorgeous. I am loving the beautiful fall colors around my neighborhood, too. 🍂I stopped by my library this past weekend, too, and they were having a library sale-woohoo!! I have The Faithful Spy but I can't stand the font. It's really hard on my eyes, which is a bummer because I really wanted to read that one. I'm still reading the Brontes biography. It's great but boy it is LONG. 😂 Happy to hear Jordan is home and feeling better.

Breath sounds interesting. I may check it out. I’ll have to listen to The Currently Reading Podcast. I maybe have once before but I might need to take a listen. Your weekend sounded like a relaxing one. I love your vlogs! I recently tried my hand at doing a reading life one.

I went to the stage show a couple of years ago of Come From Away about the planes that were diverted to Gander - it was so good, such an interesting story but as you said also ultimately sad - glad Jordan is home 💕

That gorgeous tree is a Chinese Pistache (looks like it might be a male- no berries). They plant them all over the Sacramento Valley (where I live). I love mine, even with the crazy leaf cleanup.

Nice weekend vlog. Interested in your final thoughts on the Amor Towles book. I’m undecided about biting into that one.

I have Warriors Don't Cry on my shelves. You are making me want to pull it off and start it asap!! Everyone it seems has been talking about the Thursday Murder Club, so I just requested it from my library! And the Lincoln Highway...ahh...I am so excited to read this! It is on my November TBR, so I am hoping to get to it! I live right off of Rt. 30 in PA, so I am curious to see if he mentions anything that may sound familiar! Cannot wait to hear your thoughts on it! I am in the middle of two fantastic books at the moment...a MG titled Wolf Hollow and a Non-Fiction titled The Waiting! Both are looking to be 5 star reads! Love when that happens!!
