An Opulent Home in Studio City that Combines Timeless Design and Fashion | Open House TV

We're in Studio City, California to explore an opulently designed home with the team at Mogul - an interior design store in Los Angeles. Partners in business and life - Thomas Piskitello and Neal Wagner - have created a home where every inch reflects their interests in timeless design and fashion. Every part of this approximately 6600 square foot home is a virtual showroom for their shared aesthetic.

- Hello, I'm Neal Wagner.

- And I'm Thomas Piscitello.

NEAL WAGNER: Welcome to 3265 Oakdell Lane.

- Or as we like to call it, Mogul Manor.

NEAL WAGNER: We found this house in 1970. It was built by the Von der Ahe family, who own Vons grocery stores. Being that we are owners of MOGUL showroom here in Los Angeles, everything that you will see in the house is custom designed by us.

- We reimagined it with an old Hollywood glamor sort of feel with a modern twist.

- With this house being so massive and so many of our furnishings everywhere, maybe it's best just to divide and conquer. One thing about Thomas and I is that we love to entertain and throw over-the-top, decadent, Hollywood-glamorous parties. So when it came time to design the living room, we decided to do 14-foot Chesterfield sofas. It started to paint what old Hollywood could be.

We found the chandelier in New York. Immediately, it just transformed the space. And then at Christmastime, we put on those little Swarovski bells. And we liked it so much, we decided to keep it up all year.

The fireplace was here and we loved it so much. We darkened all the wood, and then we added all the mirrored panels to make it a little bit more glamorous. After cocktails in this beautiful living room, we like to invite our guests into our formal dining room. Follow me.

So when guests come into this room, they're usually wowed by the black Venetian plaster on the walls and the pops of gold and white. What they normally comment on is the chandelier that Thomas designed, which has thousands of smoke-colored crystals on it. So my contribution to this space are these paintings. I call them my nest series. We like to take contemporary art and put it in a traditional setting.

The centerpiece of the room is, of course, the fabulous dining table and chairs, which we custom make and designed. We decided to go with a glass table because of the amazing rug that's underneath it, which is a Kyle Bunting rug. And while I'm downstairs entertaining, Thomas is usually upstairs in our VIP room having his own little party in what we call the loft.

- The upstairs VIP lounge loft is all about exclusivity. We've had countless parties where groups of people will just sort of sneak away, come up here, and have cocktails and play bartender, watch some movies, even pass out in the open bedroom.

The space, in general, is an open floor plan. It's like a big loft apartment. I'm from the East Coast from New York, so for me, this is like a Tribeca loft. And actually, the pair of lamps are from the Woolworth Building in New York. The bronze gargoyles-- there were four of them, and two, we had converted into lamps. And at the far end is one of my favorite photographs from one of my favorite designers, Tom Ford, when he was running the House of Gucci.

Welcome to the master bedroom. For me, what I love about the room most is everything is very tactile. I love texture and I love touching things. The walls are covered in suede, the beds in a very soft, buttery leather, that bedspreads in chinchilla. So everything just feels amazing and just looks very inviting.

My personal pet project was this closet. The closet was inspired by iconic men. The rich, dark tones of black and ebony, and the big grand island in the center stocks everything, but looks quite impressive and is also a showplace to house the Murano horses.

- This backyard oasis features something for everyone because in California, you have to take advantage of the amazing weather. It has a fire pit, two bars, a cabana for movie night, and I have to mention my two favorite moments-- it's the two chandeliers. That wraps it up for now.

- Thanks for joining us on the tour. I hope you enjoyed it.

- Bye.

disgustingly tacky .... typically the home of those who no longer know what to make money .... and then throws them away in unsuitable and horrendous things !!
