Get the archons, because they are always the most valuable units AT THE MOMENT THEY ARE AVAILABLE.
"Venti is trash" because his value depends entirely on the amount of small mobs available. For the whole version 1 of the game, he was cracked.
"Zhongli is trash". He has almost no offensive value. But still, a character that makes you immortal still sounds like a big deal to me lol.
"Raiden is trash". Raiden national was the best comp in the game for almost two whole versions.

There are no must pulls in Genshin. You can 36 star the abyss with only four stars. Obviously some characters make it easier, but none are necessary.
