Me: "What did it cost?"

Louis XVI: "Everything."

Dang, imagine being so rich that in the future their are now thousands of tourists visiting your place each day, out front just standing there staring and admiring on this structure you once lived in that is now considered a work of art, but during your residency that exact same structure was simply called the front foyer.

It's almost like a small city but for the royals.

Shout out to all the peasants without an opera house

Thank goodness someone had the wherewithal to preserve Versailles for future generations and not have it burnt to the ground. What a tragedy that would have been.
I was in Versailles in July of 2015 and absolutely loved the architecture, furniture, grounds and history. It is an absolute marvel.

When I visited, it took my breath away of its beauty but of its enormity as well. Felt overwhelmed instantly that I don't remember what exactly I saw but I know just a small portion of it as the dark sky was enveloping and I was hungry. What a palace!

2:30 - Of course, I would never live in a palace without a full Opera House...

Although the Hall of Mirrors is the most amazing indoor space in the world, I kinda liked the open-air terrace that once sat in it's place.

I like how everyone added something to the palace as centuries went by. Every kind of artist added their own type of art in making of the Palace as we know today

Wow, this is fascinating. Such an awesome building(s).

2:45 I much prefer the looks of the building before the modernizing done in 1774.

I remember watching that video inside Versaille when I was a kid, that would ultimately lead to me becoming a Louis 14 fanboy and learning everything I could about french history

"two symmetrical grand apartments for the king and the queen." when you want to flex on the peasants using your marriage that's falling apart.

I've never been to Versailles, but can sense its grandeur from thousands of miles away.
