Parents of kids found living in shed arrested: 'I hope they stay in jail'

A mother and father in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina have been arrested after allegedly allowing their two kids to live in a shed that police described as deplorable.
Adrian Wilson said his son is close with the 18-year-old found by police and personally drove out to the home when he learned the parents were arrested. Kelloy Poe and Paul St. Michel are accused of letting their children, an 18-year-old and 7-year-old, live in a cramped, dirty shed, left to suffer the elements with no air conditioning or spare clothes.
"If we would have known this, we would have intervened a long time ago," Wilson lamented. "I came out here looking for my son's friend just to let him know, 'Hey, we're here. Come on, I'll take you in.'"
An anonymous tip from a neighbor led to the shocking discovery. Police also claim they found drugs on Kelly Poe while arresting her. Wilson said he's angry about what happened.
"They chose drugs over their kids, the well-being of their kids and that's just not right," he said. "A real parent doesn't do that. And I hope they honestly stay in jail because they don't need to be in them kids' lives."
