Got to love tyre squeal on gravel, sand, grass, etc. Once you notice it, you'll find it in every episode where KITT is driving off tarmac. The sound engineer was probably the least car-aware person on the project...

Well, I did some googling because it bugged me that KITT called the gun a "high powered weapon" despite the magazine clearly holding pistol rounds.
Its an Armalite AR-7 which fires .22 LR, an absolutely puny caliber and probably inadequate for an assassination at that range.
