Eating weird fungus and getting Noita'd repeatedly. That's the Noita Fungal Shift experience.

In Noita, you can trip on weird fungus in the Fungal Caverns (or find it in a pouch) and activate a Fungal Reality Shift, transforming a random material into a new one during a run. In this video I shift a lot of things (mostly vomit and poison for some reason? bad luck). Subscribe thanks : )

Once watched FuryForged play a seed that did Flammable Gas to Acid, easily one of the scariest combo's to get as it causes acid to create even more acid as it melts through stuff.

FYI, fungal shift messages either mean that the substance in the message shifted or some other substance has changed into the one you see in the message
This is why fire didn't shift in your case (something else got turned into fire)

I don’t know why but the leagues of death by means completely unrelated to the fungal shifting is the funniest thing to me

I once had smoke to lava.
It wasn't quite as disastrous as it sounds, but it made fire and explosion spells much more dangerous.

First ever fungal shift I did gave me water to acid which would have been difficult enough but then I used my wand which I forgot had a water trail

After hundred of shifts, I finally had one helpful shift: the lava turned to Sima, including the lava around the final boss arena. Makes all the times I turned blood into Ominous Liquid worth it.

I think my worst and best experience with the fugal shift was the water becoming lava, the stage 3 and 4 were ... hot lol

I once shifted blood to lava, the run was surprisingly long, because mobs for some reason almost stopped bleeding, and in some cases it was very fun - like when I shot Taumari
