Thank you and keep this "beginner" content coming. As a single mom of young kids, this info is worth gold to me.

I've been refilling my juice bottles with water to have water on hand for different things like dishes and other stuff

FYI, years ago a Buddy and I placed rice in 5 gallon "pickle" buckets we got from McDee's. No mylar, no O2 absorber, just filled the bucket, put it under his house and left it. Almost 10 years later he got into some. They had a slight pickle smell, but after cooking there was no trace. Just a point of reference, but of course now, I'd hedge my bet with mylar and 02 absorbers.

during the Great Depression my mom said they were rationed one cup of sugar a week. and 1 cup of coffee a week. 2 cups of flour. This is the free items they stood in line for not what they could buy if they had the money. So also learn now to ration what you consume, less sugar less of everything

Thank you so much!!! This is literally the best preppers hack EVER!! Before seeing this from your channel about 6 months ago I couldn't afford mylar bags etc. and so didn't have any beans, peas, etc. stored. But now half my preps are in soda bottles!!! Thank you again!!

My grandson, Vince, loves doing this with me. He loves seeing the rice and beans go down the funnel and I to the bottle. He will say “ come on grandma lets put “betchables” in the bottles.” Learned this from you two years ago Sir! It’s been a blessing!🙏💜🙋🏻NW GA

I really like the juice containers, rectangular ones stack on their sides nicely.

You're helping those who simply give up before they even get started prepping. If they don't have "equipment" or "supplies", they just stop and never even think outside the box. This ALSO helps all of us, because jars are so expensive, and we must have them to actually can food, so I use glass & plastic jars that have a good rubber seal in the lid to store things like you're showing here.

Im new to your channel, thank you for this great prep hack!
Being a single mom of a teenager we have found another hack i never see anyone do!
When the pandemic and lock down hit our area i was in process of moving and had nothing in refridgerator, and was on 84 hour work weeks so no time to shop.
There was nothing in our stores when i did go but we both drink Protein shakes every day and that really saved us and was filling!
So we always keep protein shake giant tubs and boxes of coconut milk and powdered peanut butter.
Maybe this will help someone else out there?! God Bless and good luck! Cheers, from Colorado!

i have been doing this for years now...and I have never had any problems with the dry goods that I put in either liter bottles or juice bottles. I have even used smaller plastic jars to use with the thought in mind of being able to share with others without giving away to much of my supplies. Thank you for sharing this so that others can learn easier ways to help themselves.

Been doing this for over a decade, and last week I opened one just to check it. It was perfect👌. Long grain rice 🌾

I found a funnel at Dollar Tree that has a wider nozzle, and I trimmed off the narrow end. Only about 1/2" goes into the bottle neck, works like a charm.

Spot on! I'm still using pop bottle pre Y2K! I use a chop stick to get the food flowing free, tamp bottle down on counter and cap off...rice, beans, sugar and flour...

Sams and Costco have 25lb bags of rice for less than $10 still. Very affordable to stock up on with a tight budget.

We do the same thing! We also store dry beans, salt and sugar in these bottles. We dry can in canning jars also but we have some in plastic just in case. We’re in California (earthquake zone)

Soda & juice bottles are made of PET, which do NOT contain BPA and never have. Also, if you don’t drink pop, just go to your local recycling collection center and pick up all the bottles you want. Take them home and rinse them with a bleach solution to sterilize…good as new! 👍❤️

Believe it or not, I watched your first video about doing this and it totally changed the way I preserve my grains.❤️ I like reusing bottles and not let them go to waste. When I first did it, I didn't have oxygen absorbers at the time. So I learned how to make homemade ones with steel wool, salt, cloth and staples. If I can save money, I will. 🙂
Thank you for all your teaching and knowledge! It is much appreciated!❤️🙂

I've been reusing these and juice bottles for years. They work great. Rice, beans, sugar, instant potatoes, cornmeal, ect.

We use our bottles to store our city tap water in. I know some preppers have advised against it but if done correctly it's fine or it has been so far for me. We cleaned the bottles and THE LIDS. Then completely fill until it's running over with no air space then place the cap on tight then put date on the bottles. Now we have been doing this for about 3 years and about once a month I pull out the oldest bottle and start consuming it and they have been fine.we inten to use this for cleaning and washing and, if necessary, consuming. They are also stored in a dark location that is some what temperature controlled.

I have this compulsion to save spaghetti jars. It seems like a shame to throw in the recycling bin.
