Which one are you choosing? The Instamic or the TX660?

Hi Jaired, thanks so much for putting together this comparison. A few notes. When Instamic is in recorder mode, the LEDs act as a VU Meter when recording. In the Pro version they are green, in the Pro Plus they turn red to make it clear that the device is recording. Your Instamic was most probably wrongly configured as an Hands-Free Profile. In that case the VU meter is showing what Instamic is streaming but it is not recording. In our tests, the Instamic Pro Plus records 4.5hrs with one battery charge, continuously. Maybe after a few years it can drop to 4 due to aging. I personally find the 32-bit Float as a key feature in portable recorders like Instamic because you will never know what you are going to capture and how loud it might sound. Put it on and forget about it. In other conditions where you know what you will capture (like mounting it to a handheld mic) 24-bit can do the job. AI apps are great add-ons for us filmakers but they work better in English. Some no-English users might not get the same improvements when "generative speech" is involved on top of speech denoising. Firmware and software update is a way for us to improve our product and squeeze everything out of it. I like to deliver new features to our community that they ask for. It is my favorite part of Instamic's business to listen to the community and talk with my colleagues. I just finished a 10 days production with 20 units around and they delivered every single take. Timecode, 32-bit Float, waterproofing. My production team is enthusiast. I completely get your point about feeling confident to record though. I found myself loosing a video taken with a Red camera several years ago and I still remember it. I have never missed a take with Instamic honestly but it is also truth that I know my little boy :) I will be happy to send you a white sample to test. Sony need to make a 32bit version of the TX660 and ability to set the frame rate recording has it has an issue with time skip at least from my experience
