A Double Cut imposter by Vintage...What's the verdict?

Join me while I assess and discover this cheaper than cheap guitar.

I couldn't reviewing this Vintage Guitars Double cut LP. It's a donation to the channel and the proceeds have gone straight to Leukaemia Care UK. How well will this hold up amongst the current quality of new, low cost guitars? More importantly though, Is it a nice playing instrument at minimal cost? Let's find out.

Hi everyone. I'm a luthier based in Devon, England. I make electric guitars from scratch here in my workshop. I hope that you enjoy the banter. The main priority here is having a laugh. Secondly, I hope that you might be tempted to have a go yourself, either by building your own guitar or adapting a kit. Making guitars is such a rewarding experience and hopefully you can learn from me, and other You Tubers. I'll be making the guitar body and guitar neck from raw materials on every build.

Even if you never give it a go, sit back and enjoy the guitar making process from start to finish.

Heya Paul! I just watched you on Andertons and I must say, that other chap (probably a nice guy, albeit with ear plugs) looked a little nervous. Who wouldn't?

I just picked up two of my teles, in for a setup (and sundry bone nut cutting and new saddle installation) from a shop in town and they now play like butter. And these are not Custom Shop teles, just Coronado-built guitars.

Bottom line: take your guitars in to a good luthier and have them set them up right proper; they will play like you want and you won't need to blow lots of filthy luchre on new guitars.

Nice to see some love for the V130. Proves that budget guitars can be easily improved at little extra cost. I've owned or played most of the usual higher priced models but I can say from experience that the V130 is hard to beat as a gigging guitar. Light, comfortable and really responsive with a decent tonal range (big pots?). I got mine on eBay for about £160, added nothing other than a clean, set up and intonation adjustments and it's worked out fine. Authentic swearing is always fine by me btw.
