Francois was an excellent choice. He nailed the role, he WAS Cesare.

Francois' portrayal of Cesare is the main reason I'm still obsessed with this show after almost 11 years

It says a lot about the actor. When I saw the first few episodes, I was surprised that they gave the role to an actor not so known. He was probably the least known actor among the main cast. And with every new episode, it was much more obvious that he is the ultimate main character. And he managed it perfectly, he was able to outshine such an actor like Jeremy Irons. They couldn´t pick anyone better for Cesare.

Best decision in the history of casting: François Arnaud for the role of Cesare Borgia. He is so genuine that it is incredible. Who would have thought he could be so amazing just looking at that clean-shaven, short haired young man. He was more than perfect in ever single scene of the Borgias. Best cast I watch this series at least once a month because of the brilliant I’ve been a PR agent for live theatre and a degree in Theatrical Directing/Producing and I love these little details behind the camera and again love the entire cast!
