My guess is the story wasn’t written by someone who speaks another language, but a young writer. I’m guessing pre-teen maybe? I say this because I started writing stories when I was a pre-teen, and yeah... reading them now as an adult, I think I wrote like an alien. Lol

0:55 This kind of happened a few years ago in South Africa in the end exams. It was a maths exam and was translated from English to Afrikaans so terribly. The specific question asked that you have to prove if the figure is a quadrilateral. Translated to Afikaans, the question asked that you have to prove if the figure has 4 squares. That was probably the easiest 10 marks i have ever gotten.
