Lol, love the shot at the end about finding ways to get on base when you’re hitting .175. I’m picturing Matt in the batting cages like Happy Gilmore standing in front of pitches trying to cover himself in ball marks.

Clues: 1) Player bent over. Ok, *could* be faking for a free base. 2) With runner on base, catcher is ignoring the ball and is showing concern for the batter. If this doesn't hit him, that's a live ball and R1 can go to 3rd.

You have a gift for revealing a scenario without bringing absolute perspectives …this allows room to see other possibilities despite everything already noted saying one thing.

I've shown an umpire my bloody hand after a hit-by-pitch, and still he did not award the base. Ended up grounding out and exiting the game after the inning because my hand got swollen to the point that I could't hit or catch with it anymore. This was about 17 years ago and I'm still salty about it lol

The “Spalding” imprint on the batter’s body finally convinced the ump.

Loving the jomboy type breakdown. Keep it up!

I’ve seen umpires miss a HBP before, even in big games. (Game 163 in 2009 between the Tigers and Twins comes to mind, but that was a brush of the jersey. It still cost the Tigers the game.)

This is new to me, but hey. The proof is right there. With instant replay, calls can be reversed.

To my mind, an officials first and foremost duty is to “get it right”, and if getting it right isn’t a point if honor for you, you’re in the wrong line if work.

I've been watching your videos for several years. Just started watching your actual game videos that explain what is happening and it's the best on YouTube. Yes that includes jomboy

That umpiring crew is just full of Angel Hernandez's twin brothers.

LOL at the ending. btw, as someone who played ball at the aa level, you're a voice of reason on youtube vs all the other rand channels. good lord, finally someone who actually understands this game

Hey I heard Matt Antonelli was a 1st Round Draft Pick and former MLB Player.

I don't remember who it was, but years ago I remember a hitter getting hit in the hands. The ump didn't believe him. The x-ray after the game did. Broken hand, and he didn't even get first for it.

Commercial airline crews have been making improved decisions for over a couple decades now--honestly, starting in Sioux City, IO in '89--using Crew Resource Management (CRM).

It's high time that MLB reached out to ALPA (Air Line Pilots' Association) to get some training going, stat.

Plus, the fact that the ump didn’t call it foul and the catcher didn’t react to what would be a live ball.

I like how the commentator admits he wasn't the best batter at end of video. Respect! He still played in the Show tho.

I remember Magglio Ordonez getting hit before and had to show Bruce Froemming where it hit his arm, which Bruce gave Maggs arm a little pinch and sent him to 1st.

Lol, I am really enjoying these videos of these rare and bizarre occurrences.

I like the new video style Matt! I heard something the other day that might help your videos get some more traction; video success is 1/3 thumbnail, 1/3 title, and 1/3 content. Your content is definitely there, but your thumbnail and title could use some work. I'd love to see you get the attention you deserve, nothing but love. Keep it up
