De Abelprijs wordt gezien als de ‘Nobelprijs voor de wiskunde' en wordt sinds 2003 jaarlijks uitgereikt. De Abelprijs 2021 is toegekend aan de Israëlische computerwetenschapper Avi Wigderson en de Hongaarse wiskundige László Lovász. Zij ontvingen de prijs voor hun baanbrekende bijdragen op het gebied van de theoretische informatica en de discrete wiskunde. Tijdens de Avond van de Abelprijs 2021 vertellen zij over hun werk.

The Abel Prize 2021 was awarded to the Israeli computer scientist Avi Wigderson and the Hungarian mathematician László Lovász. They received the prize for their foundational contributions to theoretical computer science and discrete mathematics, and their leading role in shaping them into central fields of modern mathematics. During the Evening of the Abel Prize 2021 both prize winners will be present and will talk about their work.
