I was born, raised and live in ALABAMA! Love this song and the state!! Everyone should be proud of where they have roots. Good and bad can be found in all.

Another new one to me. This is really an engaging song. I love the presentation, the minimalist performance, the sincerity, and the lyrics. Being from Canada I clearly missed many of the references, but I certainly got more that I thought I would. Don your reaction is spot on! Thanks Mike for the background info. It doesn't feel like cheap writing to me, but maybe that's just me.

Hi Don, great reaction (as usual)! Nolan picked a great song! I loved Riley's voice and guitar style. Beautiful song and one I'm sure Bama folks love! R.I.P. Dale Earnhardt

Flora-Bama is the Best Bar in Alabama. I’m a native and can attest.

Hi Don, this song was written in 2015 and was on the front end of what has now became a fad in Nashville songwriting. The fad is name-checkiing places and song-checking old songs in lyrics. It is happening a lot in current songs out of Nashville. No disrespect to Riley because I do feel the honesty and love he had for Alabama in this song, but I feel that's a cheap and easy way to write a song for the most part. However, due to his reference to Robert E. Lee this song did generate controversy and was pulled from many streaming services after it release as a single. Enjoyable song and reaction.---#UTRCM
