This week on TestDrive we’re comparing the 2024 Nissan Pathfinder SL and 2024 Hyundai Palisade Urban, two midsize SUVs priced around the $57,000 CAD mark offering plenty for Canadian buyers. We go over the technical specifications of each vehicle along with some key features about each. We also go over important dimensions such as length, width, height, headroom, legroom, and more.

We then take the 2024 Nissan Pathfinder SL on the road to talk about its overall drive, ride, performance, and our fuel economy test results. Nile takes the wheel while Victor rides in the second row. We also discuss our fuel economy test results with both vehicles along with some key features of the Nissan.

We swap over and switch positions as we test out the 2024 Hyundai Palisade Urban with Victor behind the wheel and Nile riding in the second row. We discuss the ride, drive, and handling of this vehicle along with our thoughts on the performance. We also go over some of the key differences the Hyundai has to offer.

Have a 2022 Pathfinder Platinum and still only has 7100 miles on it. No complaints so far. Love the room and comfort for tall drivers.

We're getting the Pathfinder tomorrow with the black leather interior, Bose sound system, etc. Can't wait! Its beautiful.
We used to own a Hyundai and were ultimately disappointed with it and would never recommend it to family or friends. Too many issues.

Pathfinder for the more traditional looks. Probably if I was looking in that price range I'd probably stretch and get an Infinti Q60, those look really good to me.

For motor heads, Pathfinder is way better. Gives you AWD, more grunt under the boot and handles really well. Palisade is more for people who like gadgets and tech more than the actual driving experience.

The Palisade doesn’t have power folding mirrors. They stick out far, 96” from mirror to mirror vs. 86” for the Pathfinder. I couldn’t get the Palisade in the garage.

The Pathfinder design is more ergonomic and economical price wise than the Palisade .
I have a 2020 Nissan Murano I used for my work commute looking to upgrade to the Pathfinder .
Nissan is on the move they are getting the little things right.

Question for Nile, big man to big man, which has the better space front/middle row between these two and how does it compare to the Grand Highlander that I just watched your review of?

My seat always goes all the way back, no matter the vehicle, need a family vehicle that someone can sit behind me. If I blow the budget on a Grand Highlander or Sienna, at least I can get a hybrid which helps with $2/L gas here in BC.
