This is one of the most underrated songs of the eighties.  I used to rock out to this all the time.  Thanks for making it then and posting now!

Directing this video is a highlight from my Capitol years. The opportunity to visualize a bona fide killer track is a rare gift, and the good fortune to work with Gary and Michael on this project was a genuine pleasure. The energy, spirit, and chops they brought to their visual performances sealed the deal at MTV and video channels worldwide. Thanks to everyone for showing Sly Fox and "Let's Go All The Way" the love they deserve, and props to producer/cinematographer George Bloom and editor Ron Sedgwick.

NB: The visual quality of this clip is the best of any version on YouTube. This is how it should look.

My teenagers didn't know whether to be impressed or appalled that their mom knew all the words to the GTA5 song. I'm so glad to be hearing this again. it has always been one of my favourites.

Holy SHIT, I was just transported straight back to my teen years. God damn, I miss the 80s. No one was cooler than us. Sorry.

The only song by Sly Fox that achieved any popularity, this is often construed to be about consummating a sexual relationship. However its writer Sly Fox vocalist Gary "Mudbone" Cooper says this is not the case. He explained the song's meaning is, "Whatever your goal, dream or vision, you should go all the way to get it.

One of the best songs of the era. I can remember, as a kid, waiting for this to come on the radio so I could record it to a cassette.

Dude, I was sitting on a computer in Law School 1999. I downloaded Napster and this song on the school lab computer. I tried to remember the lyrics to this song and finally found the download. I must have repeated this song for 2 hours. A childhood gem.

Now I lived in California. How appropriate are these lyrics referring California 1970 to present?

California dreamers
Sinkin' in the sand

Driving to work through snow this morning, 35 mph, worried about slipping and sliding, and the song came on the radio; instant flash back and, oops, couldn't help it, started driving faster! Arrived safely and in a much better frame of mind. This song is as infectious today as it was in the 80s!! What would I do without my 80's on 8?

Song's funky as hell. This is why I can't help have a soft spot for 80s pop.

From Songfacts:

The only song by Sly Fox that achieved any popularity, this is often construed to be about consummating a sexual relationship. However its writer Sly Fox vocalist Gary "Mudbone" Cooper says this is not the case. He explained the song's meaning is, "Whatever your goal, dream or vision, you should go all the way to get it."

Sly Fox was the brainchild of a British producer named Ted Currier. He teamed up the black musician Gary Cooper (dubbed "Sly") with the white singer Michael Camacho ("Fox"), creating an intentionally diverse duo established for both musical and marketing purposes. Cooper was an established session pro in the funk landscape, having drummed for Sly Stone, George Clinton and Bootsy Collins. Camacho had been performing in jazz/acapella groups.

The duo was purely a studio production, and lasted just one album. In interviews to promote this song, they played up their diversity and held to a relentlessly positive message.
Musically, this song merged funk stylings with dance music. It's writer Gary Cooper was trying to re-create factory sounds - compressors and presses - to generate the rhythm.
