I find it awesome when something that used to be a mod becomes part of the base game. Just brings parity to everything. And modders get to have a stable, common base to build off of.

NGL my favorite feature in this video is the packaging mechanic. That'll make things so much easier to organize. Second coolest thing to me is the item variants. Generators with different characteristics seems really interesting, and it will give you a reason to go looking for more even if you already have one. Unless you get lucky and find your favorite one first! Then it's even more exciting. Also love that they're keeping swords as chase items. Good choice.

It's cool, but at this point I'm on Build 420 in the year 2243 with the amount of mods I have installed.

Once again TIS come out with another absolute banger of a dev blog! The GrappleTech feature looks really good, that's such a huge immersion boost and I hope will be extended to objects as well so items can be picked up / carried / dragged in a more natural way, imagine pushing furniture around to block doors and windows! All the crafting upgrades and other features look properly good, I love the new packing mechanic too and can see that being used for a lot of item groupings! As for the "hollow book", for some curious reason my first thought was "ooh you could totally use that to turn a valuable book into a surprise bomb in multiplayer!" 😁.

Either way Build 42 is shaping up to be the Badger's Knackers and I'm absolutely here for it! Cheers Mr Duck and thankyou for all you do mate!

the fact that some of the things the devs discussed in this blog that seemed to be already mostly functional may be cut from build 42 and put into a later build makes me think that things are still mostly on schedule and that they are still aiming for a release window in the first half of the year, and are down to trimming things and polishing now.
