Quinn tries to justify and rationalize his HiFi setup that’s definitely overkill. It is... right?

I don't consider myself an audiophile, but I do like the audiophile scene and culture. This was a really cool video.

As an audiophile, I power all my beautiful equipments by a wind turbine located in seberia, and OMG, the electricity is just so pure makes the sound cristal clean.

That’s the most casual “Btw, I use Arch” I’ve ever experienced. Well played sir.

What else distinguishes an audiophile? He puts thousands of dollars into devices, but not a dollar into sensible room acoustics.

It’s refreshing to see a audiophile admit to all the snake oil being touted about. The reel to reel is really a keeper.

“I got this for *half* of what they normally sell for” — the lie told by everyone with any expensive hobby, ever.

I am glad I am a fan of music rather than an "audiophile. " My HiFi sounds fantastic to me and I definately don't have anyone else to impress.

DIY? Only thing "diy" is the pvc pipes. The rest of the video is an audiophile in denial.

Starts the video by taking shots at audiophiles and then proceeds to show off a *$4, 000* turntable fitted with a *$1, 300* cartridge.

Hate to break this to you, but you and the "crazy" old audiophiles have more in common than you think.

How to look fancy on a budget.
Drink Coke on a wine glass.
Also DIY the f*** out of your audio hardware.

Tips for buying hi-fi:
1) Buy used. You can afford better used gear than new gear, especially as new gear becomes more art than science and the price skyrockets.
2) Never pay full price. You can find deals on gear, as long as you look in the right places.
3) Pay cash. It is not worth throwing your finances into turmoil for a hi-fi product or system that will never pull its weight financially.

You should do a video on DACs. Or maybe hi-fi on a budget. I believe everyone can appreciate good audio. I mean I know there are better solutions than my in ear monitors and my pocket amplifier, but I can get confused

This looks like a very, very nice (and dare I say unusual) setup. Always nice when people don't just repeat others, but make their own choices :) Very interesting! Thanks for posting the video.

Interesting video! having more of a music recording perspective, I am amazed at how much Audiophiles spend, and their attention to what I would consider insignificant details, but they dont seem to spend much energy or money on the acoustics of the room. With the current state of the technology the proper acoustic treatment of the room will have far more impact on your sound than changing a from basic preamp or amp or even DAC. I dont even want to talk about the pure copper 100% oxygen free digital cable that audibly reduces the jitter. At the end of the day all the music we are listening to has been recorded, mixed and mastered in the same type of audio engineering environment. The fact that audio engineering and HiFi are 2 completely seperate unverses is really puzzling. That being said it's a hobby, Hifi gear look cool and if you are happy and have fun listening to your music it's all that really matters.

Hi, thanks for posting. I found it interesting that you think that “Power is a bunch of crap” but you have the expensive power cables hooked up to your equipment. 😂😂😂
