Omicron surges in Europe as Italy and Spain tighten restrictions - BBC News

Italy and Spain are the latest European countries to tighten coronavirus restrictions in an effort to curb the spread of the Omicron variant of coronavirus.

Countries across the Continent are struggling to cope with the pressure on health services and medical staff.

The health services under pressure... That is mainly due to under investment..so as soon as some medical staff are off...there are few to stand in for them....one things for sure it is not due to hospital admissions from Omicron...but as always news channels forget to mention that.

My wife and I were on the way to get the booster today when we saw a
troubled lady and her child outside the clinic. The mother explained her
daughter's cancer treatment had been delayed again. It was hard to look
them in the eye, knowing that little girl was gravely ill and there we
were, not ill but taking up NHS resources. We went straight home feeling
ashmed of ourselves. We will be OK. I'll get some lemsips in, just
incase.
