Shugendo is Esoteric Buddhism. Takigyo & Misogi are Ascetismpractices. We pray to Fudo Myoo he is one of the most importandst King in Mikkyo. We dont do it for our Body to get hard!! Please watch in Wikipedia for Shugendo to get more Information if you want:)

Yes, Shugendo is a Mix of Taoism, Shinto & Buddhism, but its also a Way of tratitionell japanese Culture. In Japan you can find different Shugen Schools like Haguro, Honzan... The Ascetism is a important Part, but Misogi our Takigyo is only one of many Manners and Rituals between Prayers.

Awesome! Another test is the sauna, see how long you can take it. I realised the will from that method. I've got back into the mind control recently, to help overcome my ADD. Good thing ADD can give you hyperfocus on tasks you enjoy doing. Keep it up!

I was kind of surprised to hear the Heart Sutra being recited. I was not aware that this was still a "thing" in Shugendo.

Just wondering how long it took you to remember the words to your prayers. I know when I first tried this the only one I could remember was the one to Kanzeon hoping for some mercy from the shaking that overtook my mind lol.
