context from a quick google search; Anglerfishes we usually see(big ones) are female, and males are waaaay smaller. Certain anglerfish species dont just mate, they essentially fuse together to "mate". as shown in the video the male follows the female and bites her. after that the male's mouth is absorbed to the female's skin, bonding them together and making the female accessible to the male's DNA and reproductive organs. the male feeds off from the female's blood, and entirely dependent on that flow of nutrition to stay alive. also the female can have 8 of them attached.
