I just heard this on the radio! I actually teared up. I haven't heard this song in 40 years. It took me back to the tiny apartment me and my wife lived in when we got married. We just loved this song. She passed away in 2017. It's amazing how a song can bring back so many memories. Damn I miss her so much!

David Paich of Toto wrote this, and this song has all the earmarks of a Toto song, and that's a damn good thing to have. Maybe after Toto guitarist Steve Lukather co-wrote Turn Your Love Around and George had a Top 10 hit with it (and the song won the Grammy for Best R&B song of the year in '83, the same year Toto swept the Grammys for their album Toto IV and hit Rosanna), George maybe asked the Toto fellas "Hey, you guys got anything else?" and Paich handed him this!
