Alternatively: Just restart until you get dynamite or magic missile, then blow a hole in the side of the mountain so you can jetpack up to the top, then open the bottom of the mountain for a free tablet and +25 max hp every run. Super easy and guarantees an OK start due to tablet money and easy of killing enemies. Plus both dynamite and magic missile are super helpful when digging earlygame

edit: Also, if you have some kind of waterbreathing/good digging method you can just memorize where hearts are so that you don't need light/torch/wormblood. I believe that there are 3 possible layouts of the flooded cave
edit edit: it's also worth noting that there is a full heal above the hp+, it's usueful if you can't one shot the alchemist and need to heal(only on the first kill it drops full heal)

also if u start with magic missle or dynamite (i think u can technically do it with firebolt but no) u can get the first orb at the start of the game which would also help... while ur at it u can also get the desert one

Tip:
Remember the cave layout is randomized between 3 choices, the worm blood helps you see the path you need to take to find the heart and the bomb at the bottom is needed so you don't drown midway.

Just don't go venturing too much to the left unprepared.

A few things: The Dark Cave has 5 distinct possible lay-outs. You can look them up online so that you're not caught off guard by its lay-out.

Sometimes you find a wand in the Mines with a torch spell in it. This will also light up the dark cave, meaning you can do without worm blood.

There is a max health upgrade in the dark cave (the heart with the + sign) and a full health refill (just a heart). Get the upgrade before you get the refill, and don't go for the refill untill you need it. Why not take it immediately? Well, see below, you can return to it once you enter the Snowy Depths.

If you get the all-seeing-eye perk in the first or second holy mountain, you can exit the Snowy Depths on the upper right and work your way back up to the mines. The perk will let you see in the Dark Cave, the spell version will not work. You need a flask of water to cross the lava though.

By now I basically have most of the caves memorized based off some easily discernible features. I do get one or two mixed up sometimes but I don't really bother with the worm blood unless I kill a natural worm near the cave. When playing Noita I try and only use reusable resources and avoid limited spells, except black hole and healing of course

Oooohhhh, so THAT'S what the tagline for "Wormy Vision" means!
It's always confused me, 'cos it seemed like it's meant to give you something like temporary All-Seeing Eye, but the only extra vision I could see was in the corners of the screen (and only barely).

But, I'm guessing it dispels magical darkness as opposed to natural darkness of the unexplored - neat!
