When I discovered that the higher the number the faster the attack and release were, I just banged my head on the wall for doing it wrongly for so many time!

Finally, the best compressor tutorial. The explanation of what attack and release knobs are doing to the signal is brilliant.

Pretty confusing having the attack and release knobs working in reverse, I know that's how the original unit was designed but I always forget haha

Strange that they don't (also) put the attack & release in ms on the plugin, if only to show the faster settings are clockwise. They could switch between linear/logarithmic (potentiometer) markings (if that has to do with it).

Are the IN and OUT of the meter even important ? Since nobody addresses them.I just look at GR.
But I get confused as to why the IN and OUT is there.
Thanks

Thx for all the tips... when you say input should be around-18 Dbfs, you mean peak or rms ?

Newbie here so be gentle. My perception of how to use this compressor is that the lower the input number is on the louder it gets. Does this mean the compressor is working harder when it makes it louder or is it working less? the numbers get bigger turning the knob counter clockwise.
But the bigger the number the quiter it’s gets. I’m so confused

Is each individual drum mic recording being routed to the same compressor on an aux/return?
