The reason why they banned him is that he could have easily killed him a lot of Fighters that do cheat the either put things in their gloves. To make them stronger, use steroids of some sort or do what he did. They take it extremely seriously because your life is on the line, it things like that happen.

I think they banned him for life for the fact he could have killed the dude, in fact he did, maybe not directly but he still did.

This is a short story of what truly happened with the two boxers.

So basically, as shown in the video, there were two boxers. Luis Resto, who was 20-8-2, known as the underdog, and Billy Collins, 14-0, who was expected to win, this being his first appearance on the big stage.

As they fought, Collins's eyes began to swell. No ordinary swelling. By the last few rounds, not only were his eyes puffy and closing, but the area around his eyes, cheekbones, and forehead were grossly swollen.

As said in the video, Collins went to shake hands with Resto and noticed the padding was gone. Approximately one ounce of padding was removed from each gloves and plaster was put on his wraps.

This caused Collins permanent eye damage and he was told he'd never be able to box again. He began to struggling with drinking a depression. The drinking costed his life one night when he crashed his car in a creek near his house while intoxicated.
