Poland border crisis: ‘The risk of escalation is high’ says deputy foreign minister - BBC Newsnight

Belarus is accused of pushing migrants towards its border with Poland to undermine security, a charge it denies.

On Monday, hundreds of migrants were blocked at a crossing by Polish troops.

A video filmed at the border by the BBC showed migrants sitting down on a road in front of barbed wire and Polish forces in a tense stand-off.

Those migrants came from a large makeshift camp at the Kuznica crossing, where thousands have settled in tents just inside Belarus.

Poland has every right to defend its borders and territory from outside incursions. The migrants should be kept inside Belarus and should go home if Belarus won’t have them.

If they wanted to go to Germany why didn't they get a flight to Berlin instead of a flight to Minsk? Because Germany would not give them a visa, while Belarus sold them a tourist visa for thousands of dollars making them think they could enter the EU illegally through Poland. --- Now they're Belarus' responsibility, not Poland's !

My Polacy nie pozwolimy na przekraczanie naszych granic. Tak jak to miało miejsce 1939. Jesteśmy suwerennym krajem. I nie damy sobie narzucić jak inne kraje EU rozlokowania imigrantów. Jesteśmy twardym murem Europy jak to miało miejsce 12.9.1683 pod Wiedniem. Polska mimo wewnętrznych podziałów, potrafił się łączyć w całość !!!
