Many moons ago they did have battens that took 4 tubes here in Australia, and I do remember seeing around the same time toomstones that were a Y shape that took 2 tubes, not sure if they fitted into a standard batten though.

From my research, I could not find anything, however, you could make one yourself using fluorescent lamp holders that you can buy. Also, if you have access to a 3-D printer might help

I have never heard of a double adapter for T8 flourescent tube lighting fixtures, and I highly doubt they exist. If they did, you could put 2 tubes in place of 1, but the ballast would still be designed for just 1. Somehow I don't think it'd be very happy with that!

In recent years it came to my notice I needed at least 1000 lux or even more for most activities, then I found out I had cataracts. Now both operated on but my addiction to high light levels hasn’t gone away.

They have 6, 000 lumen edison screw bulbs now (40W power consumption), surprised there are no ultra high output tubes. Though the bulbs get so hot they have to have built in fans.

Just change the light bucket to an double gang outlet. No you don't actually have to change the box inside the wall. Just screw the outlet to the box. Then move the light to either side of the outlet and have plugs instead of hard wired.

I would hunt the dumpster for some more of those old fixtures and then wire them in.
People are probable replacing these en mass anyway so might be some good bargains.

You're overthinking it Dave, would take an electrician like an hour 2 swap those 2 fixtures over. It'll probably be wired for an E-Light so you'll need the right driver anyway or put in a spitfire.

Ifyou couldn’t print an adapter, I suspect it would be less expensive to replace the fixture than buy such a thing, if it exists. I have no doubt that the ‘unusual’ wiring you have to the fixtures wouldn’t be any sort of a challenge for you…

Find 5000k to blue for me, all my LED lights are 2700k far prefer that color temp.
