May I ask how you found out that the Grenztruppen used the Exa 1a camera? I am a Exakta&Exa collector and I would really like to know.

The Anti Facist Barrier.... and “Republic flight”... were the DDR era terms yes, it was a matter of Political perception I guess...🤪

Nice camera.

The Grenzers would have had Zoom lenses with some distance capability to photo the BGS and other western forces on the other side of the “ Barrier”.
