Jack is right, old YouTube used to be people having fun and playing video games etc. Now it's either cringe podcasts, mrbeast clones or other cookie cutter stuff. And remember, just because someone is donating to charities or being nice it doesn't mean you have to like them and their content.

I think what Jack meant with "[...] they'd be longer" is how MrB speeds through the videos and is constantly having these high energy segments one after the other with no breaks. Basically there's no down time, no mistakes, no calm behind the scene or something, it's edited, it's filmed and overproduced to keep your attention which isn't fun. He knows that's how you get watch time and that's how you get money. Mark and Jack often have segments in their let's plays where nothing happens. Maybe some funny little editing but it's mostly more calm and not so hyperfocused that every second grabs your attention and makes money.

I like how Mr Beast can't accept that someone just doesn't like him. Also he has to admit that he has changed the landscape of content on YouTube. Just look at the front page of YouTube without signing in to your account.

I think Jimmy took the L from the first blow. Jack was being very honest about his opinion under a literal lie detector, that's not really disrespectful, it's just his honest opinion. He's not necessarily right or wrong, it's just a damn opinion. There was no reason for Jimmy to come out so defensively on twitter. If he'd come out and said what he'd said in a nicer way and tried to talk to Jack rather than trying to argue with him and have a go I think they probably could've talked it out and both grown from it. But in this modern Internet culture it's better to be controversial and try to clap back rather than have a conversation and try to understand each other better I guess.

I'm glad they talked it out in the end, but this was definitely a bigger L for Jimmy.

I remembered when I used to watch YouTube, where it was just people having fun playing games, but now whenever I try to find out how to do good on the platform it’s always “do it like Mrbeast does it” instead of just being yourself or making content from the heart and not for your wallet

My favourite part about Mr.Beast's tweet is that he ended it with ''I'll be the bigger man'' as if he didn't just write a three paragraph opinion piece because of someone giving his honest opinion as a one-off part during a comedy video.
