Corrupt chess

Instead of taking the pieces you corrupt or slowly take over control of the pieces
No piece is ever lost or out of the game
simply the more same colored pieces are protecting or attacking a piece the player with more control over the piece can overtake said piece instead of moving one

It would be a strategical nightmare but still could be fun
