Sounds like the voicing of the integrated amp is dialed in for their tubes. The acme completely changed the amps voice. Aka magic. But im speculating based on your description. Plus it red plated….😳

Unison specifically instructs using a matched set. Something tells me that your Amazon set was not matched, otherwise the defect would have been found before it shipped to you.

I currently have Psvane Acme 845 (I paid 556 USD per pair thru aliexpress shipped) in my Line Magnetic 845 premium amp and I noticed the forwardness. What are the tubes came with your Unison Research Simply 845? I'll get a pair.

I'm also curious about how many hours on the new tubes. In my experience, poor bass definition, harsh highs, a no magic are often symptoms of new tubes unless they are cryogenically treated. The red-plating is a whole other issue.

Your video popped up on my TV. I wondered why you had to buy the tubes off Amazon if you were "working with" PSVANE and why you would be reviewing the Acme series rather than the Horizon series, which is their latest. When you stated you were wearing gloves to handle the tubes, I concluded you have no useful information for me. There is absolutely NO reason to wear gloves when handling vacuum tubes. They are not halogen projector or headlight bulbs. Hell, you could probably spray paint them or put Crisco on them and it wouldn't be a problem. The sad part is someone out there may now think they should go out and buy gloves made from silk harvested under a full moon and spun by a virgin seventh daughter of a seventh daughter to handle their tubes. I don't usually bash anyone after watching a video - I just move on. However, this glove thing warrants calling out and leads me to believe that you just like to make videos without any real knowledge of amplifiers or electronics.
