Distance is your best ally in any fight. The mirror drill teaches you to control distance, maintain balance, and defend against various strikes.

In long range footwork and distance control is a great tactic. In medium range; slipping, rolling, parrying, and blocking punches is a needed skill. In close range lifting your arms in a pillar or shell-defense is a good tactic.

You have to refine your defense against punches in all 3 ranges: long, medium, and close range.
