Did you know the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo included more publicly out LGBTQI2S+ athletes than any Olympic Games before? While this is a great reflection of progress that has been made, research and lived experience tells us there is still work to do at the elite level of sport and at the recreation and development levels. Watch the University of Calgary webinar now. Topics for the discussion are barriers to participation, allyship, sport policy, and, generally, why inclusion matters!

Panelists include former Olympian and University of Calgary alum, Dr. Lindsay Alcock (she/her); Eva Bošnjak (they/them), a MSc student in the Faculty of Kinesiology; and Dr. William Bridel, PhD, (he/him), associate professor, also in the Faculty of Kinesiology. The panel is moderated by Carla Bertsch (she/her), the University of Calgary’s coordinator, Sexual and Gender-Based Violence Support.
