I've played gigs with less than a $1000 horn and less than $100 mouthpiece (today's dollars).🎷
Trust me, it's not the horn. Yes, you need a horn that doesn't cause you any problems, but you don't need a $10, 000 or even a $5000 horn.. same thing with guitars and basses;
it's just has to be good enough for what you're doing, and what you can do! 😉
even for professionals there's a point of diminishing returns in the pricing structure . I'm sure you can even do gigs with Jay's $700 alto, if you can do it, the horn will also.
